DANSKO MISSION
Dansko is an employee-owned company based in Pennsylvania. We are not driven by financial goals, but rather by a desire to exceed expectations – be it those of our retailers, consumers or manufacturing partners. Probably best known for the classic rocker-bottom stapled clog that made us famous, we now carry heels, boots, flats and sneakers!
Our goal is to be every stakeholder’s favorite shoe company!
Dansko’s Legendary All-Day Comfort
Every day, our feet make hard contact with unforgiving surfaces. Many Dansko devotees work in professions that require long hours on their feet such as food service, the airline industry, teaching and health care.
That’s why all Dansko shoes, whether clogs, heels, flats or sandals, share the same comfort DNA. This is a collection of comfort elements, including a contoured footbed, roomy toe box and shock absorbing outsole that work together to keep the feet, legs and back in proper alignment and reduce impact on your body for improved support and all day comfort.
APMA approved
Dansko currently has 15 collections that carry the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Seal of Acceptance. Dansko collections carrying the seal include: Stapled, Sausalito, Vista, Sofia, Geneva, Avalon, Arcadia, Sanibel, Calais, Carmel, Walden and Presidio. The APMA certifies footwear that allows for normal foot function and promotes quality foot health.
Community Involvement
At Dansko people and community are right up there with the bottom line. That’s why Dansko was the first footwear company to be a founding member of B Corporation, a group of like-minded, for-profit businesses who take care of their employees, community and environment. Yearly audits are just one way B Corporation helps consumers tell the difference between a “good company’ and just good marketing. Find a complete list of B Corp members at bcorporation.net.
Environmental Stand
Care for the planet begins at home. That’s why Dansko has made its HQ one of the most eco-conscious buildings in the country.
Dansko’s new headquarters in West Grove, PA received Gold certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®). LEED is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of buildings that meet the highest environmentally responsible and performance measures. Certification is awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
